Application temperature of molybdenum disulfide and its effect on lubrication property of molybdenum disulfide.
The oxidation temperature of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is 400℃, the friction coefficient of molybdenum disulfide is reduced under vacuum environment, the oxidation temperature is 800℃, and the melting point is 1185℃. Molybdenum disulfide begins oxidation at 400℃, oxidation is significant at 450℃, and oxidation is sharp at 540℃. The final product of oxidation is molybdenum trioxide and sulfur dioxide. Molybdenum trioxide will increase friction.
